Product Overview

The Model 3763A Error Detector makes frequency offset, bit error rate, and count measurements on the 10 and 16 bit WORDS and on the PRB's produced by the Model 3762A Data Generator. The frequency offset measurements are made over 106 clock periods and are displayed as ~f/f1 or iM/f2 in parts per million. Bit error rate measurements are made with a fixed error accumulation of 10 or 100 errors, with a range of 0.0 x 10_i to 9.9 x l0~. A choice of gating is provided for count measurements: Repetitive and Single Shot gating can be made over 106, 108 or 1 0~ clock periods or over a selectable time interval with a range of 1 minute to 24 hours. Manual gating with front panel switches and gating with an external signal are also provided. The range of count measurements is 0 to 9999, this range can be extended by use of an external counter. In addition to the display the measurement results can be presented on a digital recorder, chart recorder and on a remote external counter. Facilities are provided for burst mode operation and for measurement gating within the burst.
